Ron Gassman, 58, of West Branch

Ronald Adrian Gassman, age 58, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 17, 2023, in West Branch, MI. He was born on January 28, 1965, in Wyandotte, MI to Henry and Dorothy (Garter) Gassman.

Ron attended Ogemaw Heights High School, graduating in the class of 1983.

Throughout his career, Ron worked in various fields. He started by working with his father at Ferrellgas, where he painted propane tanks. He then went on to work at a machine shop and installed satellites. Ron later joined Comfort Center, a furniture store, and eventually became well-known as “Repo Ron” for his work in vehicle repossession.

In his free time, Ron enjoyed woodworking, fishing, singing karaoke, and spending time at the family cabin in Trout Lake.

Ron is survived by his beloved wife Rachel Gassman of West Branch and their children: Katie Wend of Rose City, Bret Schunk of Wedowee, AL, Alyson Gassman of Fort Wayne, IN, Devin (Kayla) Schunk of West Branch, Desirae Schunk of West Branch, Justine Braley-Gassman of West Branch, and Adriana Gassman of West Branch. He was also a loving grandfather to Aiden, Levi, Karlie, Artemis, and Korra. Ronald is survived by his sister Sandra (Jim) Arini of St. Helen and brothers David (Angie) Gassman of Muskegon and Richard Gassman of West Branch.

He was predeceased by his parents and his best friend Chris O’Grady.

A memorial visitation to honor Ron’s life will be held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch on Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the family through Ron’s memorial Tribute Fund.                 .

The Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch, MI, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Ron will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
