Mrs. Carlson 95 passed away Saturday April 29, 2023, at MyMichigan-Gladwin following a brief illness. She was born in Detroit on December 29, 1927, to the late Roy & Hazel (Raymond) Champagne. She married Maynard Carlson on June 7, 1947, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Roseville, Michigan. He preceded her in death in 1995.
She is survived by her children, Sandy & Bob Schloss, Barry & Patty Carlson and Jeff & Jacquelyn Carlson; grandchildren Keri, Kevin, Kris, Keith & Kallie, Ryan & Tiffani, Nathan & Sarah, Ashley & Cody, Jennifer & Mike; Great grandchildren, Brett, Kayleigh, Breanna, Addison, Elizabeth, Rebekah, Randi, Adriene, Ian, Luna, Lawson, Evan, Leira, Larry, Adam, Aveary, Bianca, Jayden, Jaleiya, and Mariah. She was preceded in death by her brother Tom Foster.
Shirley enjoyed growing up near Lake St. Clair area. We loved being on the boat and water skiing at the age of 70 years old and especially spending time with her loving family. She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church.
Funeral Services will be held Friday May 5, 2023 at 12 pm at the Christ the King Lutheran Church with Pastor Emily Olsen presiding with inurnment in the church columbarium. Family will greet friends at the church on Friday from 11 am until time of services. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Christ the King Lutheran Church.
