Kathy Lawrence, 84, of West Branch

Kathryn Louise Lawrence, age 84, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at her home in West Branch, MI. She was born on November 15, 1938, in Saginaw, MI to Bradley and Caroline (Walton) Wellemeyer.

Kathy lived in West Branch since 1972, formerly of Harbor Springs, MI. She graduated from Vassar High School in 1956 and attended business college. She worked for her father as a secretary at Vassar Electroloy.

Kathy married William Lawrence on November 22, 1958, in Vassar and they started a family. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Vassar and West Branch. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Kathy is survived by her children Denise Lawrence, Dennis (Lisa) Lawrence, Deborah (Tim) Buhlman, and Dean (DeAnna) Lawrence; grandchildren Michael (Jeanie) Lawrence, Matthew (Ashley) Lawrence, Heather (TJ) Grace, Jason (Amy) Buhlman, Ky (Cayla) Buhlman, William (Sharlaina) Buhlman, Katie Lawrence, Brooke (Allan) Baker, Carli (Jake) Rosebrugh, Macy (Robbie) Farley, Tabitha McAuley, and Scott (Danielle) McAuley; great grandchildren Bruce and Calvin Lawrence, Conway, Walker, and Sawyer Lawrence, Lowan and Faith Grace, Chase Buhlman, Dylan and Hadley Bugg, A.J. Baker, Madison, Maylee, and Saige Rosebrugh, and Laine, Lincoln, and Layla McAuley; and lifelong friend and aunt Wilma Hool.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband William, grandson Richard McAuley, great granddaughter Brinley Lawrence, and sister Charlotte Peterson.

A private service will be held.

Burial will be at Brookside Cemetery in West Branch, MI.

Memorial gifts may be made to Special Olympics Michigan Area 4 in honor of her pride and joy, Katie Lynne Lawrence.
