Russell Dean Schubert, age 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 14, 2022, at Gross Assisted Living in Clio, MI. He was born on May 4, 1935, in West Branch, MI to Russell and Gertrude (Lehman) Schubert.
Dean married Shirley Prevo in West Branch on June 23, 1956. He worked at General Motors Service Parts for 36 years. He loved hunting and golfing.
He was a loving and devoted husband and father. He will be truly missed.
Dean is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Shirley Schubert of Burton, MI; children Nancy (Mike) Jacobs of Houghton Lake, MI, Dan Schubert of Lapeer, MI, Susan Boyden of Clio, MI, and Allan (Debbie) Schubert of Columbia, TN; 13 grandchildren,12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; brother Ron (Nancy) Schubert of Houghton Lake; and sister Susan Bydalek of Duluth, MN.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Shirley Rau, grandchild Ashley Howard, and daughter-in-law Carol Schubert.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch, MI at 12:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. Father Emmanuel Finbarr will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in West Branch.
