Jackie Gregg, 67, of Hale

Jackie Rae Gregg, 67, of Hale, MI, passed away on Friday March 11, 2022.

She was born on July 15, 1954 to the late Richard Merlin and Minnie Mae (Stanlake) Wells in Flint, MI.

Jackie would spend summers in Hale to visit her grandparents while growing up, and eventually moved her family to Hale in the late 1980’s.

Jackie married the love of her life, Douglas Arlon Gregg on June 14, 1980.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed taking part in all of her children’s interests, always pushing them to do their best. She was a Master Gardener and spent hours canning her perfectly cultivated tomatoes, making sure that at the end of every harvest season, the pantry was filled with rows and rows of food for the winter– especially her delicious pickles! Her vast knowledge of gardening and love for it trickled down to her husband, Doug, and soon they began friendly competition on who could grow the most.

Along with her passion for gardening, she was also a very talented artist, writer, and seamstress. There were many aspects to Jackie that are too many to count, but her main focus was on her family and doing all that she could for them to be safe, happy and well loved.

Jackie is survived by her husband, Doug; children, Pete (Marie Schaefer) Gregg and Carrie Mae Gregg; grandchildren, Claudia Zelda-Mae and Cora Jean; sister, Carol Anslow. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Barbara Matejcek and Jean Gregg.

A celebration of life is scheduled for July 15th at the family’s home where you may offer your condolences. Jackie would have wanted any donations/contributions made to the American Kidney Fund.
