‘Squatchtober’ at Iosco County Fairgrounds

HALE – In a continuing effort to attract people to Northeast Michigan, Iosco County, the Squatchtober 5K Run/Walk has been created.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Iosco County Fairgrounds. Participants will be encouraged to come early and stay through Sunday and enjoy the fall colors and explore the natural resources the area has to offer.

Camping will be available on the Iosco County Fairgrounds on Saturday night. Squatchtober will be an evening event and costumes will be encouraged (but not required) since we are in the month of October. There will be surprises along the way for participants and hopefully one will get a glimpse of the elusive ‘Squatch’.

Weather permitting, after the run/walk, plans are to have a bonfire along with refreshments and snacks. The overall male and female winners will receive a prize and each participant will receive a participation t-shirt.

The run/walk registrations is a fundraiser for the Iosco County Fair, however, in order to help with the cost of the t-shirts, prizes, refreshments we are trying to raise sponsorship money to offset those costs.

For information contact Event Director Kristi Benedict at 989-254-2849.
