MIO – Demolition on the Oscoda County Courthouse began August 16. The historic building was destroyed by a fire on May 4.
Amy Wyckoff, a Sherriff’ Department employee who worked in the building next to the courthouse for years, witnessed both the fire and demolition of the ruined structure.
‘It was heartbreaking watching over 120 years of history burn down,’ she said, ‘and even more so watching the remnants of this beautiful historical building being demolished and hauled away.’
