Alpena, MI – Taste the Local Difference-«, Michigan’ local-food marketing agency, is partnering with the Alpena Farmers’ Market, to bring Alpena another Certified Local Food Event.
On August 23, 2018, Alpena Farmers’ Market is hosting their 3rd Annual Locavore Dinner at the Aplex in Alpena, beginning at 6pm. Chef Eric Peterson of The Fresh Palate and Chef Kevin Peterson of As You Wish Gourmet Eatery, are preparing several courses and sourcing the majority of the food from farmers and producers from the Alpena Farmers Market.
This event will be endorsed as a Certified Local Food Event by TLD. To become certified, an event must be at least 20% sourced from local farmers and producers (although this event will be closer to 100%!). Event organizers must show a sincere commitment to supporting our local food community’ from farm to fork to compost and back again. This certification also aims to provide the validation, transparency, and measurement that is key to promoting a sustainable economy for growers.
You can pick up tickets at the Alpena Farmers Market Wednesdays & Saturdays from 8:00am- 1:00pm or at Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union for $35.00 each or $60.00 for two
