REGION – MyMichigan Health has named Mike Erickson to lead its future Medical Center locations in Saginaw, Tawas and Standish. This appointment follows the health system’s announcement in late March that Michigan Ascension’s Northern Region would become part of MyMichigan Health. Erickson is the current president of MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena.
“It is such a great honor to be selected to not only lead but work alongside and get to know the staff, health care providers, volunteers and communities of Saginaw, Tawas and Standish,” said Erickson. “I am very much looking forward to partnering together to do all we can to provide access to and positively impact the health of our communities.”
Erickson has served as president of the Medical Center in Alpena since 2022. He began his career with MyMichigan Health in 2008 as the system vice president support services. He then transitioned in 2021 to system vice president professional services where he was accountable for oversight, vision and leading the strategic direction for professional services across the health system.
With an extensive history of serving on local boards and councils, Erickson holds a master’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in technology management, both from the University of Maryland. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in management studies from the same university. He has been certified in facilities management. Erickson is married to his wife Annmarie and they have four children.
MyMichigan’s transaction with Michigan Ascension’s Northern Region is expected to close this summer, subject to regulatory and other required third-party approvals. Until that time, Ascension Michigan’s northern locations and MyMichigan Health will continue to operate independently.
