Run! Don’t walk to support Hale cross country

By Sean Bernard

Coach Steve Bradley says, “I’m excited to see how far the team goes this season.”

He is optimistic for the team. He says his hopes are especially high for 11th grader Alex Wanty, as he got 1st at the Dwayne Rau Memorial Invite. He also wants Alex to go on and get an All-State medal at the state finals.

Coach Bradley says that his biggest goals for the season are to win the league championship, get third or better at regionals, and go onto state finals as a team. Coach said that the team of six boys (Alex Wanty, Sean Bernard, Paxton Downing, Lawrence Mullins, Reece Ready, Brady McCadie) has a really good chance of making top three at regionals and going onto states with how hard they are working at all of the practices.

It especially helps that everyone on the team has made a commitment to the team. Most importantly, he said that the team is having a lot of fun, which is important.

This year is the first year Hale has ever had a full girls team, as they have five girls. The girls are going for the league championship this year. One more of coaches’ goals is for all of the six boys to be running under 20 minutes and all of the girls under 25 minutes to win the league championship.
