Bruce Lorion, 87, of Roscommon

Bruce Alan Lorion, age 87, of Roscommon, died on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at his home in the presence and comfort of his family.

Bruce was born November 14, 1936, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Vincent and Thelma (Wright) Lorion. Bruce retired from Camp Grayling where he served many years as a grounds and maintanence supervisor. He also had served 25 years of being Fire Chief at Gerrish Township. Bruce was a co-founder of the Michigan Firemen’s Memorial and served as the president of the foundation for over 25 years. He had also owned and operated several different businesses in Roscommon. Bruce enjoyed fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends at the VFW. Bruce and Jan loved spending time at their cabin in Curtis, Michigan. Bruce will be remembered for having a great sense of humor. He always had a great joke or story to tell. Bruce was proud of his children and loved them very much. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Bruce will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife, Janette; daughter, Deborah Donnelly of Kingsley, Michigan; grandchildren: Scott Petersen, Josh (Lindsey) Petersen, Kirt Grow, Kyle (Laura) Grow, Allee Donnelly; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Bruce is preceded in death by his parents; son, Charlie; brothers: David Lorion and Jerry Lorion; and son-in-law, Allen Donnelly.

Family and friends gathered on , May 6, 2024, at Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, 143 Lake Street, Roscommon, Michigan 48653. The Funeral was on May 6, 2024, also at Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors.

If so desired, the family prefers memorial contributions be made in Bruce’s name to the Janette Lorion Care Fund.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Bruce and Jan’s caregivers, especially Lari Ford.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, Roscommon.
