Don Sisler II

Donald Paul Sisler II, loving husband and father, passed away May 14, 2024.

The son of Donald and Marguerite (Overcash) Sisler, Don grew up in Altoona, Pennsylvania. He was born October 21, 1946 and graduated from Altoona Area High School. After graduation, Don enlisted in the Air Force. It was during his basic training that he met and married the love of his life, Cindy. Don served his country proudly and faithfully for 29 years, including during Vietnam and Desert Shield/Desert Storm, attaining the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. During his time of service his military decorations included the Airman’s Medal among many other honors. A lifelong avid fisher and hunter, Don enjoyed sharing his love of the outdoors with family and friends.

Don is survived by his wife of 57 years, Cindy; his children: Michelle (Joel) Potter and Donald (Sandra) Sisler; his grandchildren: Christian (Courtney) Potter, Matthew Potter, and Kayla Potter, and his great granddaughter, Grace Potter; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Butch and Mary Brown and Cathy and Dale Albers. Don was preceded in death by his mother and father, Donald and Marguerite Sisler; his sister, Janet Walters; brother-in-law, Hale Walters; brother, James Sisler and sister-in-law, Rose Sisler.

Interment will be at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Don’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
