Robert Yager, 66, of Beaverton

Robert G. Yager, 66, of Beaverton, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. He was born on May 20, 1957, in Gladwin, Michigan, the son of Olan and Arlene (Sharp) Yager.

Robert was united in marriage to Sheila (Winowiecki) Yager, and together they created countless cherished memories. After a career as a Senior Program Manager that took them to various places, they moved back to Michigan and settled in Beaverton in 2021. They shared a love for lake life and looked forward to the return of living on the lake.

Robert had a passion for golfing, hiking, and traveling, but his true talent lay in his ability to build and fix things. He was known among his friends as resourceful and the “super connector” for his ability to solve problems or connect with someone who could. Even in his downtime, Robert was always putzing around, finding the next project to tackle. He was known for his infectious laugh, his sense of humor and quick wit.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sheila Yager, and their children: Melanie Oliver, Danny (Yoselin) Yager, Steven Yager, Thomas (Rebecca) Yager, and Derrick (Lindsey) Yager. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren: Tyler, Yois, Michael, Cayla, Declan, August, and Millie, as well as his sister Roberta (Dan) Kellan.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Janet.

A memorial service to celebrate Robert’s life will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin. A reception will follow at the Albright Shores Eagles. Visitation will begin at 12:00 P.M. until the time of service. If you wish to send flowers, the family has requested you reach out to Sugarbeet Bloom & Bridal in Beaverton, MI, 989-435-2103. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home. www.hallkokotovichfuneralhome.com
