Richard Miller, 66, of East Tawas

Richard Verne Miller, age 66 of East Tawas, MI., passed away peacefully at MediLodge in Tawas City, MI., surrounded by his loving family. Richard was born on August 28, 1957 in Saginaw, MI., to the late Richard and Marjorie (Bell) Miller. Richard graduated from Buena Vista High School in Saginaw in 1975 and immediately joined the United States Marine Corp where he served for four years. He was honorable discharged at the rank of sergeant in 1979. After one year of being out of the armed forces he decided to get back in and joined the United States Air Force. He served for another four years at the Wurtsmith AFB in Oscoda, MI. and again was honorably discharged at the rank of sergeant in 1984. Richard then went to work Baylock manufacturing, which is Cooper Standard today, and was an employee with them for 18 years.

In 1988 he married the love of his life, Kathy (Williams) Miller, and in June 2024, they had almost 36 years together. The last few years Richard dealt with serious ailments, but when Richard felt well, he loved to fish. His favorite spots to fish were on the AuSable River, Van Ettan Lake, and Cedar Lake. He also enjoyed deer hunting in the area. Through it all, Kathy was a loving, caring, dedicated wife taking care of Richard until his last breath.

Richard is survived by his wife, Kathy; brother, Mitch Miller; sister, Cherie (Fred) Reinbold, and many nieces and nephews.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Michael Miller.
