Donald Crandell, 72, of Hale

Donald Alan Crandell, age 72, passed away on March 21, 2024, at home in Hale, MI.

He was born on March 23, 1951, to Donald and Delores (Howell) Crandell in Flint, MI.  Donald went to work for General Motors at the Flint V8 Engine Plant on September 4, 1969. He worked for GM for 31 years, retiring on August 1, 2000.  He married Glenda Leigh Burnett on August 29, 1970. He resided in Linden, MI for 42 years and retired to their cabin in Hale, MI in 2013.

Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, playing cards, softball, racquetball and enjoyed his time at Linden Sportsmen Club shooting clays and teaching the youth. He was a Kansas City BBQ judge and enjoyed traveling to those events.

He is survived by his wife Glenda of 53 1/2 years, their children Kevin Crandell and Kristina (Tim) Anderson; his precious granddaughters, Jenna Anderson and Kendell Crandell; also survived by his brother, Dale Crandell, and sister, Patricia (Tom) Flees; and his many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly and treated as his own; and many friends.
