Carolyn Kay Cadwell, age 63, of Tawas City, Michigan, formerly a resident of Whittemore died on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. She was born the daughter of Ronald and Nancy (Bowen) Larsen on September 29, 1960 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She was a graduate of Whittemore Prescott High School with the class of 1979. Carolyn was a school bus driver for many years for the Whittemore school district. She loved being with children and sharing their day-to-day stories with them. Carolyn later became a nail technician and enjoyed making new friends.
Carolyn was a very social person and just loved being around people on a daily basis. She had a passion for singing and especially karaoke! She also enjoyed making arts, crafts, and beautiful jewelry pieces to share with family and friends. Carolyn also enjoyed bird watching and she loved animals of all kinds, but dogs and cats were her favorite! Most of all Carolyn loved being a mother and grandmother and loved being an active part of their lives and watching them grow.
Carolyn married Roy Smith and together they had two children. She later married James Cadwell and they added another child to their family. Carolyn eventually met her soul mate, Michael McIntosh and together they shared 17 years.
She is survived by her children; Dawna (Jeremiah) Kilgore, Lisa (Jason) Erway and Karisa (Nick) Alvey; fiance,Michael McIntosh; her siblings, Ron Larsen, Marilyn Longpre, Ken Larsen and Judy Petitti; grandchildren; Caleb, Nathaniel, Nancy, Ethan, Morgan, Nicholas, Lydia, and Breonna. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and husband James Cadwell.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024 at the Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City, Michigan at 11:00 AM. The family will welcome friends at 10:00 AM until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Ray Ray’s Pike Town USA 2075 W. River Avenue Oscoda, MI 48750.
