Leo Sucharski, Jr., 65, of National City

Leo F. Sucharski, Jr., age 65, passed away suddenly on January 3, 2024, in National City, MI. Leo was born to Leo & Blanche (Krajniak) Sucharski on June 21, 1958, in Alpena, MI. After graduation from high school in Alpena, MI, Leo joined the United States Navy and proudly served his country for 4 years in San Diego, CA. After leaving the Navy, Leo worked as a concrete cutter for FMG Concrete Cutting for 20 years, retiring in 2021. He married Brenda Lee Copeland on December 3, 2016, in Howell, MI. Leo was a member of the Eagles Club and the American Legion. Leo enjoyed fishing, Nascar, and gardening. He was a friend to everyone and loved helping others. After retiring, he and Brenda moved “up north” to their cabin on the lake. Leo is survived by his loving wife of 7 years, Brenda; mother, Blanche Sucharski of Alpena, MI; children; Tiffany (AJ) Sucharski, Christina Sucharski, Katelyn (Bradley) Wagner; brothers, James (Debbie) Sucharski, Larry (Jodi) Sucharski, and Randy (Sandy) Sucharski; grandchildren, Luke Sucharski, Carter Kakish, Hazel Wagner, and Kamron Corbin; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Leo F. Sucharski Sr. Per Leo’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held for Leo on February 18th, 2024, at 1:00 at the Howell Eagles, 141 Schroeder Park Dr., Howell, MI 48848. A graveside service at Holy Cross Cemetery in Alpena, MI, will be planned for a later date. Condolences and memories can be shared at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
