James Carl, 83, of East Tawas

On 2, January 2024, James Allen Carl, 83, of East Tawas left his family hereto join his beloved wife in the House of God.  Born in Mount Clemens, Michigan on 4, June 1940 to the late Anna Mae and Max Carl, they blessed him with two sisters Judy and Joanne and a brother Joel.  James left Mount Clemens for the United States Navy – 3 years on the USS Rochester as a Radio Man – cruising from California to Hawaii, and all over the far east.  Returning home James soon met the love of his life, Carol Gail Zorsch.  Together they had 5 children, James, John, Joyce, Jeffery, and Jason.  James and Carol’s marriage celebrated 56 years before Carol’s passing.  James was proud to be a long time member of the United Auto Workers – He started at Chrysler as a welder in the late 1960’s.  In 1973 he graduated through college apprenticeship as a toolmaker.  Working 17 years at Chrysler and 21 at General Motors. James was truly a renaissance man.  His hobbies included: Ham Radio Operator, cross country skiing, mountain biking, running, scuba diving, canoeing, coon hunting, fly fishing, trapping, ice fishing, duck hunting, deer hunting, bear hunting, shooting, and many more.  James was a member of the Michigan Night Hunters Association, Michigan Canoe Racing Association, Iosco Sportsmans Club, and proudly a member of the American Legion – Go Navy!  This beloved man leaves behind; son, James and wife Sue, son John and wife Janet, daughter Joyce, son Jeffery and son Jason.  Grandchildren, Jamie, Jessica, Jeanice, Michael, Joshua, John, Jennifer, Jill, Jeri, Jazmine, Wayne, Justine, Jeffery, Jared, Justin, Jeremiah; and 26 great grandchildren.  A celebration of life will be held at the American Legion Post in East Tawas on Saturday, 13th of January 2024 between 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
