James Knorr, 94, of Hillman

James Leroy Knorr, 94, of Hillman passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Insight Healing Center in Flint.

James was born April 11, 1929, in Sand Creek, Michigan to the late Lester and Lois (Mason) Knorr. He served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. On August 20, 1949, he married Verna Fox. She preceded him in death on September 6, 1993. He enjoyed hunting, baking, and cutting wood.

Surviving are his daughter, Jodi (Robert) Dines; two grandchildren, Emmalia, Alaini; brother, Fred Knorr, and girlfriend for 19 years, Marguerite Tachick, and her kids; Kathy, John, Barbara, Beverly, Bob.

James was preceded in death by two sons, Kraig and James Jr; and 12 siblings, Charlotte, Andy, Fred, Lillian, Phyllis, Leona, Josephine, Duke, Bob, Marg, and Elda Faye.

Visitation will take place Monday at Bannan Funeral Home in Alpena from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 12 p.m. with Rev. Richard George officiating. Military honors will be accorded him by Hillman VFW Post 2356.

Interment: Hillman Rust Township Cemetery
