Iva Stuble, 88, of Omer

Iva Jean Gordon-Stuble, 88 years old, was born on March 8, 1935, to Joseph and Iva Gordon (Roe) in AuGres MI, and died peacefully at 3:30 a.m. on January 9, 2024, at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital. She is now, without a doubt, worshiping and praising her Lord in heaven, free of the pain that she suffered with for many decades. However, through all the pain that she experienced, she still had a kind word to others, laughed often, and was loved by everyone that knew her. She loved her children and grandchildren, immensely.

Back in the day she loved to dance, loved Bob Seger and Charlie Pride, could twirl a baton and could tap dance a little. She always told her kids she went to school with Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck and told her grandchildren she lived in a tepee when she was young. She loved the outdoors and went outside as much as possible. She always had time to play in the snow or play on the beach and in the water with her kids. She was a great gardener, cook and baker and did the very best with what little she had. She always kept an immaculate house and could run/work circles around anyone half her age up into her early 70’s. She loved to ride her bicycle and was so mad when we took it away. She loved clothes and makeup and always had to look her best when going out with friends. She spent a lot of time with her grandkids and great grandkids, teaching them to cook, bake and do household chores.

She was baptized and confirmed at AuGres United Methodist Church and eventually became a member of Faith Lutheran Church. Her faith was strong, she loved Jesus, believed in the power of prayer and read her bible daily. She is survived by her sister, Doris LaBean; her children, Diana (Dennis) Bender, Julie (Al) Butts, Todd (Elsa) Stuble; her grandchildren, Desiree VanOchten, Brittany Bender, Kayla Butts, Keshia Butts and Jacob Stuble; her great grandchildren Zoe, Riley, Rhianna, Victoria, Catalina, Jayden, Elijah, Bella, McKenzie and Kylie; and many nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by her little teacup yorkie, Lily, who was near and dear to her heart; her dearest and best longtime friend Bonnie Smith; her caring friends Brian and Linda Leja who became like family to her when they opened their home to her and took care of her these past few years. She is also survived by her good friend Brenda Daly. She was predeceased by her daughter Sandra Haas; her parents Joseph and Iva Gordon; her brothers, James O’Connor, John and Joe Gordon, baby brother James and sister Margaret.

The funeral service will be on Monday, January 15, 2024, at Faith Lutheran Church in Prescott, MI. at 11:00 AM with visitation starting at 9:30 AM until time of service with Pastor Edward Meyer presiding. Funeral arrangements by Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Standish Chapel. Burial will be at the Sterling Cemetery in Sterling MI after the service and luncheon.

Memorial contributions can be made to the family, c/o Diana Bender for help to defray funeral costs or to Faith Lutheran Church.
