Mr. Hubert “Pete” Newell, 85 of Lewiston, Michigan died peacefully at his daughter’s home surrounded by the love of family on January 14, 2024. He was welcomed into Heaven with open arms by his late wife, Stella and son, Kenneth. Pete was born in Lewiston, Michigan on August 11, 1938, to Charles and Hildur (Hermanson) Newell. He spent his entire life in Lewiston. Pete thoroughly loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, baking, and camping. He will be deeply missed.
Pete is survived by his children, Cindy Newell; Ron (Deanna) Newell; Patrick (Cathy) Newell all of Lewiston; grandchildren, Aaron, Matthew, Bradley, Justin, Jacob, Lauren, and Lucas; nine great-grandchildren with one more on the way; sister, Lillian Ellis of Lewiston; and numerous nieces and nephews and a few good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Hildur Newell; wife, Stella; and son, Kenneth Newell.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial held in celebration of Pete’s life at a later date.
