Harvey Hampton, 82, of Tawas City

Harvey Hampton, age 82, passed away surrounded by his family on January 12, 2024, in Tawas City, MI. He was born on August 29, 1941, in Paragould, AR to Chester and Augusta (Copeland) Hampton. Harvey worked for General Motors as a Team Leader for 45 years until retiring in 2006. He married Mary Jane Whitcome on August 4, 1959. He was a member of the Iosco Gun Club and Hale Eagles Club. Harvey is survived by his wife Mary; children, Bob (Brenda) Hampton of Wellston, MI, Dawn Hampton of Flint, MI, Bill (Debbie) Hampton of Bonifay, FL, Philip (Patricia) Hampton of Wayne, MI, Michelle (Brian) Duford of Hale, MI; brothers, Gary (Judy) Hampton of Fredericksburg, VA; sisters, Mary Jeffery of Montrose, MI and Shirley Thrasher of Oklahoma; 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandsons, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, twin great grandsons, granddaughter, brother Melvin and sister Glenna Sue Garner. Per his wishes cremation has taken place. No services are planned currently.
