Daniel “Danny” Glen Chaltraw, a man of honor, integrity, and joy, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2024, at The Villa of Rose City, Michigan. Born on February 24, 1962, in Standish, Michigan, to the late Leonard and Louise (Abel-Somogy) Chaltraw, Daniel’s life was a testament to the values of family, service, and community.
A proud graduate of Sterling Standish High School, Daniel carried the lessons of his youth throughout his life. His dedication to his country was evident in his service with the U.S. Marines.
Daniel’s life was enriched by the love and support of his family. He is survived by his dear siblings, Mary (Roger) Malmo, Lenny Chaltraw, Jeff (Colleen) Chaltraw, Jolene Adams, Richard Chaltraw, and Jody Chaltraw. His legacy continues through the many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly. Daniel was preceded in death by his two nieces, Ashley Elizabeth Hicks, and Kelley Chaltraw and Brandon Tyler Weiss whose memories remain a cherished part of the family’s history.
Known for his competitive spirit and skill, Daniel achieved the remarkable feat of bowling three perfect 300 games, a testament to his precision and patience. His love for hunting was more than a pastime; it was a connection to nature and a tradition he treasured.
