Warren Jay Rhoads, age 75, passed away in Royal Oak, MI on January 12, 2024. He was born on September 4, 1948, in Detroit, MI to Charles M. and Elizabeth A. (Maroney) Rhoads. Warren joined the U.S. Coast Guard in 1967 and served in Leavenworth, KS until 1973. He worked as a field engineer for General Dynamics until retiring in 2010. Warren enjoyed riding and working on his motorcycle. He also spent time on the water, skiing, fishing, and scuba diving. He stayed busy playing golf, traveling, hunting, and in the winter snowmobiling. He was a member of the Eagles Club, Eagle Riders, American Legion, Vulcan Riders Association, and KCVRA Chapter 144. He married Pamela Lynn Wargo. Warren is survived by his children; Charles (Tina)Rhoads of Independence, MO, Michael Rhoads, Montague, MI, Maureen Rhoads of Grand Rapids, MI; sisters, Sue (Bernard) Corney of Hale, MI; grandchildren, Sadie Ann Rhoads/Weier, and Elizabeth Lurea Rhoads; great grandchildren Adaline Weir, Alivia Weir, and Serena Akrige-Rhoads; 4 nieces and 7 nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Dorris May Rhoads/Kerr. Family will welcome friends to a time of visitation on Friday, January 19, 2024,
from 5:00 pm – 8:00pm. An additional time of visitation will begin on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 12:00pm and end at the time of service at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow the service at Esmond Evergreen Cemetery in Hale, MI.
