Loyd Danner Jr., 63, of Roscommon

Loyd Kendal Danner Jr., a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2023, in Roscommon, Michigan. Born on February 28, 1960, in Almont, Michigan, Loyd was a man of many talents and interests, known for his kindness, thoughtfulness, and friendly demeanor.

Loyd was a proud graduate of Memphis High School, of the class of 1978. After graduation, he demonstrated his dedication to serving his country by enlisting in the U.S. Navy and later joining the Michigan Air National Guard. His commitment to service was admirable and reflected his inherent sense of duty and patriotism.

In addition to his military service, Loyd was an accomplished chef, lending his culinary talents to several restaurants throughout his career. His love for cooking was evident in the delicious meals he prepared, and he was always eager to share his favorite recipes with others.

Loyd was a man who relished the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, finding peace and tranquility in the quiet solitude of nature. He also enjoyed camping and bonfires, often inviting family and friends to join him in these pastimes. His love for the outdoors was infectious, inspiring those around him to appreciate the beauty and serenity of the out of doors.

Loyd was the loving father to daughter Rachel Thatcher and Daniel, Duane, Taylor, and Carissa also, the proud grandfather of Khaleesi Thatcher, Trent, Emily, Alley, Marshal, Hunter, Makenzie, Alex, and Bailey. He is also survived by his sisters, Cindy Danner (Dennis Kotkoski) and Susan Servitto. He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd Sr. and Mildred (Cox) Danner, and a sister, Morrell Merrifield. His children and grandchildren were the joy of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Thoughtful, kind, and friendly are words that best describe Loyd. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome and valued. His warm smile and gentle nature will be missed by all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the lives of his family and the many friends he made along the way.

According to his wishes cremation has taken place and a Celebration of His Life will follow at a later time. Arrangements are entrusted to Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-GLADWIN CHAPEL.
