Jerry Hollenbeck, 66, of Houghton Lake

Jerry Hollenbeck, 66, of Houghton Lake passed away on Tuesday October 24, 2023 at McLaren Bay Regional Medical Center, Bay City.

Jerry was born on February 9, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan to Ralph Hollenbeck and Ellen Cross. Jerry grew up in the Detroit area and graduated from Truman High School in Taylor. Jerry was known as a jack of all trades around the trucking business.  He was a mechanic, truck driver, and a dispatcher. Jerry was married on September 17, 1988 in Taylor to Betty Jane Green, who preceded him in death in 2007. Jerry was a member of the Houghton Lake Moose Lodge and enjoyed playing billiards / pool, cards, and euchre.  Of course his special love was working on cars and motorcycles. He had even been involved in car racing when he was younger.  

Surviving Mr. Hollenbeck are his son, Roger (Janis) Hollenbeck of Monroe; two daughters, Jodi (Jim) Montgomery of Taylor, and Jessica O’Hearn of Florence, KY; four grandchildren, Kristin, Ashley, Madison and Dylan; sister, Elizabeth Martin of Taylor; brother, Larry Frahm of Burton; significant other, Terra Trtan of Houghton Lake;  nieces and nephews.  Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Betty Jane Hollenbeck. 

Funeral Services for Jerry Hollenbeck will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday October 28, 2023 from Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel with  Rev. Andrew Thompson officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday October 28, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel.  Memorial contributions in memory of Jerry are asked to be directed to the family.
