Michael Hartman, age 51, of AuGres, Michigan, passed away on September 16, 2023. Michael was born on January 3, 1972, in Tawas City, Michigan, to the late Wayne and Carol Hartman. He grew up in AuGres, Michigan. In 1990, Michael graduated from Northville High School. After high school, he moved to Alaska where he worked as a chef on oil rigs and in remote oil camps and an airfield. In 2015, Michael returned to AuGres. He earned his welding certification from Delta College, and worked for Magline, Inc. in Standish, Michigan. Michael thrived outdoors; fishing, boating, and hunting. Michael rooted faithfully for the Detroit Red Wings, Tigers, and Lions, and Michigan Wolverines. He was a member of the Saint Paul Lutheran Church. Michael was a great brother, husband, and friend. He had a generous and tender heart, and he will be missed by many.
Michael is survived by his siblings, Mark Hartman, Susan (Hilary) Stearns, Andrea (Steven) Kolhoff, and Matthew Hartman; uncles and aunts, Ronald Marks, Inez Marks, Janice Lenske, and Charles (Janet) Marks; nieces and nephews, Nelly (Jesse) Damas, Christopher Kolhoff, Jacob Hartman, and Brain Hartman; grand nephews, Aiden and Cruz Damas; and many cousins. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his fiancee, Kimberly Manor, and late wife, Tanya Lochbaum.
There will be a funeral service held for Michael on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in AuGres, Michigan. There will be a time of visitation on Friday, September 22, 2023, at St. Paul Lutheran Church from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM, and on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Following the service there will be a luncheon held at Edmonds’ AuGres Inn. Michael will be cremated and interred in Linwood Cemetery at a later date.
