William “Bill” Harvey Makowski, 85, of Grayling, MI passed away unexpectedly on September 15, 2023 at his home.
William was born to Harvey and Elveretta (Moore) Makowski in Wayne, MI on January 25, 1938. Bill married Betty K. Baxter on June 27, 1959 in Wayne, MI. Bill was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners International, Moose Lodge, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, and Elks Lodge, and participated in many of their activities and events. Bill was a happy-go-lucky guy who had an unmistakable laugh. He was very active and was quite a character at heart. He was a jack of all trades and if he didn’t know how to do something he would soon figure it out. He was very outgoing and never met a stranger. He enjoyed telling jokes, hunting, fishing and was an avid motorcycle rider. Bill was a very uplifting man to his family and to his friends will be missed by all.
Bill is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty K Makowski; son Steven (Annetta) Makowski; grandchildren, Nicholas Makowski and Miranda Makowski; great-granddaughter Kason Makowski; brother, Russell Makowski; niece Candy (Ryan) Maxwell; great-nieces, Payton and Annika; and cousin, Donald (Sylvia) Makowski and their family. Bill is preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Desta (Symons) Makowski.
