David Stehlik, 64, of Prudenville

David Allan Stehlik, age 64, of Prudenville passed away on Saturday September 16, 2023 at home.

David was born on February 27, 1959 in Saint Johns, Michigan to Edward and Roberta (Porubsky) Stehlik. David graduated from Ovid-Elsie High School in 1977. He retired from General Motors. David moved to Prudenville over 20 years ago from St. Clair Shores. He was a member of St. Hubert Catholic Church, lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, Houghton Lake Eagles, Houghton Lake Snowmobile Club, and UAW. While growing up he was an Alter server, usher for St. Cyril Catholic Church in Bannister. David enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, especially in the Great Lakes with his father when he was younger. He grew up on the family farm and farmed with his dad and brothers. He was known for his grilled BBQ, homemade bread and salt and vinegar potato chips. David enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was extremely proud of his Chevy Chevelle.

David is survived by his siblings; Lisa (John) Chapko of Elsie, Timothy (Lisa) Stehlik of Crossville, Tennessee, and Christopher (HyDee) Stehlik of Elsie, nieces and nephews; Jennifer, Ryan, Savannah, Brianna, Hunter, Drew, Tucker, Cannon, Shyler, great nieces and nephews; Dominic, Ariana, Payton, Rosie, Talan, Esmay and Lucy, grandson; Brian. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents; Rudolph & Helen Porubsky, Joseph Stehlik, and Rose & John Fabus along with several aunts and uncles.

Mass of Christian Burial for David Allan Stehlik will be conducted on Thursday September 21, 2023 at St. Hubert Catholic Church at 11 am with Father Peter Eke officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Lyon Township. Visitation will be held on Wednesday September 20, 2023 from 3-7 pm at Christler Funeral Home-Prudenville Chapel and on Thursday September 21, 2023 at the church from 10 am until the time of Mass.
