Pat Rose, 92, of Hale

Patricia Lee Rose (née Mather), age 92, of Hale died at her home under the loving care of her family on Wednesday, August 16, 2023.

Pat was born and raised in Flint, Michigan and attended Flint Northern High School. She met the love of her life, Russell Rose, and shortly after he returned from the Korean War, they were married in 1951. Together, they shared 60 years of marriage. In addition to being the wonderful mother of five children, she also was a Master Gardener in Texas and New Jersey, an EMT, and enjoyed a banking career.

She and her husband, Russ, moved to Hale upon retirement in 1991 and built a home on Bass Lake. She was very active with the St. Pius X Catholic Church, singing in the choir, was a Eucharistic minister, and a member of the Council of Catholic Women. She enjoyed the company of her cat Boo for 20 years, traveling worldwide, and spending time with friends and family.

She is survived by her children; Teri (Bill) Petersen of Dallas, Texas, Jim (Joanne) Rose of Hawthorne, New Jersey, Bob of New Orleans, Louisiana and Mary (Greg) Duncan of Greenville, Texas; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Agnes Kalakay, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Russell G. Rose; her beloved son, Paul Leo Rose; daughter-in-law, Laurie Kent; and her two sisters, Jane Crandall and Mary Lou King.

Visitation will start at 10:00 am with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 am on Friday, September 1 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3901 N. M-65 in Hale at 11:00 am. Internment will follow at Esmond-Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Pius X Catholic Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
