Beverly W. Diment, age 85, of Oscoda, MI passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, MI. She was born on March 2, 1938 in Clare, MI to the late Roland and Vera (Dietrich) Thayer. Beverly graduated from Clare High School and during her high school years, she worked as a waitress at the Doherty Hotel in Clare. After graduation, she attended Michigan State University, obtaining her bachelor’s degree. During her time at MSU, she joined the Alpha Phi Sorority and made many friendships and memories. Beverly married Robert E. Diment on August 13, 1960 and together, they enjoyed 63 years of marriage. Throughout the years, Beverly worked as an antiques dealer, furniture refurbisher and also a substitute teacher for the Oscoda Area Schools. She had many hobbies that included gardening, hiking, biking and in her younger years, attending jazzercise. Beverly stayed active and was still walking 2 miles a day until just recently, but none of her hobbies and accomplishments can match the role she played as a wife, mother and grandmother. The time she spent selflessly pouring into her family was a gift they will forever treasure. Beverly contained a spirit so full of life, vitality, joy and compassion and it is that spirit that her family and friends will continue to remember and cherish. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Diment; children, Kim (Dr. Carl Schubert) Diment and Scott (Belinda) Diment; grandchildren, Dugan and Jensen Diment; brother-in-law, Bob Darling and nieces and nephews, Terri, Tammi and Mark Darling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Darling.
A celebration of Beverly’s life will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 1 PM at Buresh Funeral Home in Oscoda, MI. A small gathering will be held at the Hilltop Bar & Grill following the service.
