George Joseph Carter, age 86 of Lincoln, MI., passed away peacefully on February 13, 2023. George was born on June 7, 1936 in Detroit, MI., to the late Creighton and Shirley Carter. George was a longtime resident of New Hudson, MI., before relocating to Lincoln a few years ago. While living in New Hudson, George served on the Lion Township fire department for many years. He loved camping during the summer months in the Upper Peninsula and fishing as well. George enjoyed puzzle games and playing cards on his computer. At home, he was an avid potato grower trying different growing methods and varieties of potatoes.
George is survived by his brother-in-laws, Jim and John Parent; sister-in-law, Myrtle Sanborn; on the Carter side of the family, nieces, Debbie, Terry, Joi, and Sara Twining. On the Parent side of the family, many nieces and nephew.
George is preceded in death by his wife, Paula (Parent) Carter, his parents, and sister Gayle.
