Katharine Rose Wellman, 75, of Grayling, Michigan passed away peacefully at Charlevoix Hospital on January 28, 2023 with her husband and daughter by her side.
Kathy was born to Alton and Shirley (Brown) Thomson on October 13, 1947 in Mount Pleasant, MI. She loved to have her ice tea and watch the Lifetime channel. Her favorite thing to do was have her last-minute car rides with Tom and drive off without any kind of destination or plan.
She will be dearly missed by her husband of 55 years, Thomas Russell Wellman; children, Angela (Robert) Curns, Thomas Eric Wellman, and Heather (Kris) McCarrick; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Sattazhn; brother, David (Barb) Thomson; and best friend Barb (Dick) Evers.
Kathy is preceded in death by her siblings, Ross Thomson, Norma Dole, and Karen Thomson; aunt, Jean (Duane) Wilson; and brothers-in-law, Dan Wellman, Joe Wellman, David Wellman, and Mark Wellman.
Katharine’s family will greet guests from 11:00 AM until the time of the memorial service at 12:00 PM on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home in Grayling, MI.. Elder Dennis Ormsbee will be officiating.
