Vincent Paige Sr., 73, of Oscoda

Vincent Gaylord Paige Sr. has transitioned and is now with his ancestors. He was only 73 years old. He was found peacefully at rest in his home in Oscoda, Michigan on January 23, 2023. His transition was unexpected and the ones he left behind felt like he had more time.

Vincent was born on March 31st, 1949, to Gloria Jean Horne and Bernard Daniel Paige in San Angelo, Texas. He graduated from Erasmus Hall High School, Brooklyn New York in 1967. It was not long after on May 22nd, 1968, when he joined the United States Air Force. Vincent served as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Mechanic and Crew Chief. His background included various maintenance positions which earned him: the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with Seven Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal with Device, Vietnam Service Medal with Four Devices, the Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, the Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, and the Air Force Longevity Service. After serving his country for 24 years “at home and abroad” he retired and went on to work and retire at Glens Market.

Those who knew him knew he liked to be called Vince or Vinnie. He was a member of the local VFW and American Legion. He loved to play Intramural Football, Racquetball and Darts. He loved listening to music, eating good food, enjoying a great dessert, appreciating a smooth drink, telling a funny story, sharing a laugh, playing the lotto, watching soap operas, movies, and all sports especially football, basketball, and tennis. Vincent loved his family very much and enjoyed any time spent with them whether it was in person or talking on the phone for hours with. He was extremely proud of each member of his family.

Vincent married Patricia Early June 25th, 1971, to this union three children were born; they divorced June 15th, 1992, they remained the closest of friends until his death.

Vincent had a warm smile and a welcoming spirit. He was kind, patient, loving, purposeful, gentle and an imperfectly perfect man.
