Gerald Neil McCormick, age 84, of Roscommon, died on Friday, October 14, 2022, at his home in the presence and comfort of his family.
Jerry was born January 1, 1938, Lansing, Michigan, the son of Neil and Cora (McInnis) McCormick.
Jerry was a veteran having served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW Post 4159, and served many different positions, one of them being Quartermaster.
Jerry will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his niece and nephews: Brian, Brad and Julie; cousin, Fran (Lynn) Siler; good friend, John Meyer; sister-in-law, Dodie McCormick; as well as several great nieces and nephews.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Lawrence McCormick.
Family and friends will gather for a Memorial Mass at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 21, 2022, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 7878 East Houghton Lake Drive, Houghton Lake, Michigan 48629, with an hour of visiting prior to the Mass. Celebrant will be Father Bernard Tyler.
There will be a Celebration of Life gathering from 12:00 Noon – 4:00 PM, on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at the VFW Post 7302,17595 Gratiot Road, Hemlock, Michigan 48626.
The family prefers memorial contributions be made in Jerry’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, Roscommon.
