Edna M. Preston

Edna M. Preston (Thompson) quietly passed away in her sleep on October 26, 2022. Seven years ago, her childhood sweetheart and husband, Jack D. Preston, also passed away quietly in his sleep.  This September, they would have been celebrating their 71st wedding anniversary.  For many, they will always be thought of together, and together they left a legacy of caring for family, friends, and community.  Their son, Larry L. Preston (Maija), daughter, Donna. M. Noe (Tim) and grandchildren Matthew Forster (Aliz ), Jacquelyn Menninga (Chris), Lija Berlalone (Tim), Garrett Preston, and Alec Preston and grandson Jackson Menninga mourn their passing

More than her adoring husband, flowers, birds, and baking, Edna’s passion in life were her children. When she completed her motherly and cherished joy of raising them, and they left home, her love spread to her grandchildren. She loved them all, but Matthew and Jackie were particularly blessed growing up with their grandmother close at hand.  A blessing, that’s what it was.  For anyone, it was a blessing to share time with this remarkable woman—a standard of how to live life—a loving and caring nurturer.

Anyone caring to donate, please consider the Bird Center of Michigan.  It’s a non-profit organization dedicated to treating injured birds.  We’re confident Edna would be pleased with your support.
