Gary Ritchie, 83, of Gladwin

Gary D. Ritchie, went to be with Jesus on July 12, 2022, at 4:35 pm surrounded by his wife and children. He was born on July 1, 1939, to Berniece Ritchie-Fries and Guy Ritchie. He lived in Gladwin, Michigan and he graduated from Gladwin High School in 1957. He then attended cosmetology college and he owned his own beauty shop in Bay City. He also worked at Saginaw General Hospital and that is where he met his future wife: Jackie Ernest. They were married on August 25, 1962. Gary and Jackie had their first child, Scott in December of 1962, second child, Shelly in February 1966, and their final child Kim in July 1969. Gary then left the hospital and sold the beauty shop for employment at General Motors. He worked there for 33 years. Gary loved music, and started playing the piano at age 5 and played up until 3 months ago.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Guy and Berniece, brother: Ransford, nephew: Ron, cousins: Keith Kobel, Janet Morse, Nancy Legree, Joel Legree, and Ron Szymanski.

He is survived by his beloved wife: Jackie, son: Scott (Sandy) Ritchie, daughters: Shelly Ritchie-Haines and Kim Ritchie, granddaughter: Amanda (Daniel) Powell, grandson: Matthew (Rachel) Ritchie, granddaughter: Paige Haines, great grandchildren: Makayla, Timothy, Malakye, Josiyah. Along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Gary was loved by all who met him.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, July 15, 2022, 11:00 A.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022, from 3-8:00 P.M. with a Masonic Service at 7:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin. There will be a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made according to the wishes of the family. www,hall-kokotovichfuneralhome.com
