Bonnie Jean Klenki, 74, of Higgins Lake

Bonnie Jean Klenke, 74, of Higgins Lake went to be with her Lord on Monday August 9, 2021 at her home.

Bonnie was born on May 29, 1947 in Highland Park, Michigan to James and Lorna (Rucker) Marsh. She grew up in the Ferndale area where she graduated from Ferndale High School. Bonnie worked as a Nursing Assistant for Providence Hospital in Southfield for many years.  Twenty years ago she moved from Mt. Clemens, to a place she had been going since 1968, Higgins Lake.  Bonnie was married on September 7, 1974 in Oak Park to Mark Stephen Klenke. She was an active member of Higgins Lake Baptist Church and loved being a Sunday School Teacher for over 45 years.  Bonnie was sought after for years to be a preschool teacher at area churches. She was an avid gardener around her home and was known for her unique antiques in her yard and gardens. 

Surviving Mrs. Klenke are her sister, Judith Marsh of Venice, FL; brother, Pat (Marilyn) Marsh of WA; special niece, Nicole Marsh(Tom) Chafin of FL and,  niece, Debbie Marsh; three nephews, Michael Marsh, Robert Cohn, and David Marsh; great nieces and nephew, Delaney, Malia, Audrey, Cora, and Noah; and many friends. Bonnie was the beloved sister-in-law of Tamara(Chuck, Sr.) O’Connor, Paul(Midge) Klenke; Dear Aunt of Chuck, Jr.(Neelie), Meghan(Cameron) Burskey, and Matthew(Marlena) O’Connor, the late David, Stephen(Carey) and Andrew(Brittany) Klenke; Great Aunt of Charles III, Claire and Colette O’Connor, Bella Burskey, and Abigail, Lucy, George and Benjamin Klenke. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Mark Stephen Klenke;  and brother, Michael D. Marsh. 

Memorial Services for Bonnie Jean Klenke will be conducted at a later date from Higgins Lake Baptist Church. Interment will be in Lake Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake. Memorial contributions in memory of Bonnie are asked to be directed to Munson Hospice. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
