William Lee Fitch of Roscommon

William Lee Fitch, 68, of Roscommon passed away at his home.

Bill was born April 25, 1949 in Pontiac to William Arthur and Helen Marie (Olson) Fitch. He married Janet Shirleen Spare Aug. 14, 1969 in Pontiac. They resided They resided in Roscommon fulltime since 1998, part time since the early 70s, coming from Waterford.

Bill served in the US Army from 1969 to 1971 and in the National Guard for over 20 years.

Bill was an assembly line worker at the Fisher Body Plant in Pontiac from 1968 to 1984 and at the GM Lake Orion Plant from 1984 to 1999.

Bill was a member of Charles M. Engel VFW Post 4159, Roscommon, and the Grayling Lions Club. He enjoyed woodworking, tinkering with cars, fishing and hunting. Bill was very mechanical.

Surviving are his wife, Janet; two children, Bill Fitch, Jr. and Kelli (James) Temple all of Roscommon; five grandchildren, Mallory, Harly and Bailey Fitch, and Keanan and Jalen Temple; brother, Michael (Debra) Fitch of Lapeer; and two sisters, Norma (Rick) Kammerer of Prudenville and Pamela (Norman) Martens of Royal Oak.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017 with Charles M. Engel VFW Post 4159 officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until services. Burial will be at Roscommon Village Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Grayling Lions Club.
