GRAYLING – “South Camp” Ranges located west of Lake Margrethe are in use from Thursday through Saturday for small arms training. Expect to hear small arms and machine gun fire from on these days.

Northeast of Grayling, the MPRC will have live fire training Monday through Friday. Residents can expect to hear small arms and heavy machine gun fire during the work week. All Roads and trails east of Stephan Bridge out to Wakely Bridge Road will be CLOSED to civilian traffic this week. Camp Grayling’s Range 40 Complex, and Air to Ground Range, will be active during Monday through Saturday.

Residents can expect to hear the much louder AV-8 Harrier over the controlled air space of Range 40. The AV-8 is sometimes called the “Jump Jet” as it has the capability of vertical take-off. A-10’s will also be conducting flights over the 40 Complex. Artillery and Mk-19 training takes place during this period creating a very busy range week.
