Understanding Michigan’s ballot proposals

NORTHERN MICHIGAN – On Tuesday October 18, 2022, from 12:00 noon to 1:30 PM, at the Traverse Area District Library, the LWVGTA will present a program focused on the three statewide ballot proposals: Proposal 22-1, Transparency and Term Limits; Proposal 22-2, Promote the Vote 2022; and Proposal 22-3, Reproductive Freedom for All.

You may attend in person at the Traverse Area District Library, 610 Woodmere Avenue, Traverse City Michigan or view over LWVGTA Facebook or channel 189 with Spectrum TV in northwest lower Michigan.

Margaret Goeman will present the actual wording of the proposals, a description of each one, the pros and cons of each proposal and information about who supports each one and who opposes each one.

Margaret Goeman, a life-long Michigander, is a graduate of Central Michigan University and Michigan State University. During her thirty-plus year career, she taught in various public schools at the secondary level, mostly in the Traverse Area Public Schools. Now retired, she is an active member of the League of Women Voters, an avid reader, a poll worker and a frequent volunteer at Reining Liberty Ranch.

The League of Women Voters/Grand Traverse Area offers programs, forums and trainings in face-to-face and virtual formats. Thanks to Traverse Area Community Media and the Traverse Area Public Library for assisting our community in expanding and strengthening citizen access.
