Hale to discuss gypsy moth suppression strategy

By Mark Constance

HALE – The gypsy moth infestation will continue in certain areas of Iosco County’s Plainfield Township again in 2022, after communities in the township watched as the invasive species spread unimpeded through thousands of acres.

The township has identified a number of what it considers the more heavily infested areas, as recommended by Aquatic Consulting Services of Sanford. Treatment areas have been mapped, but spraying in those and (potentially) other infested areas will be discussed at a special meeting of the Plainfield township board on Wednesday, Feb. 9 at 6:30 p.m. at Eagle Pointe Plaza, located at 415 East Main Street in Hale.
