GLADWIN / PRUDENVILLE – Donkey Basketball is coming to Skeels Christian School (SCS) on Friday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. Don’t miss your chance to see what has been called the “Craziest Show on Earth.” Real donkeys will be taking to the court for a most unusual game of basketball!
Law enforcement members will be taking on the highly skilled SCS team made up of staff, coaches, and students in this quirky twist of a basketball game. “This will be a night bursting with laughter as we watch teams push, pull, ride, and coax their donkeys up and down the court,” said Athletic Director Jaime Hunt.
It’s pretty much mass confusion as riders try to stay atop their slippery donkey. Ducking, kicking, and bucking are just a few of the behaviors that will be shown by these well-trained donkeys as they spend the night stubbornly standing in the middle of the court or making a fast break towards the basket.
The community is encouraged to join in this family, friendly fundraiser for SCS’s athletic department. Skeels Christian School is located at 3956 N. M-18 in Gladwin.
Tickets are on sale now by calling the school’s office at 989-240-2190. Advanced tickets are $8, while tickets at the door will be $10. Children 5 and under are free.
