NORTHERN MICHIGAN – Here are the most up to date notes regarding the fireworks, parades and other events this July 4 weekend in the following counties: Roscommon, Ogemaw, Kalkaska, Crawford, Otsego, Montmorency, Alcona, Oscoda, Ogemaw, Arenac and Iosco.

St. Helen

July 2 – Fireworks at dusk at Richfield Township Park.

July 3 – Boat parade at dusk. Lineup at Third Lake marina and follow the shoreline to the end of First Lake.

July 3 – Parade and craft show on courthouse lawn. Parade starts at 2 p.m.

July 4 – Fireworks at dusk at the Mio Pond

July 2 – Fish Fry at American Legion starting at 5 p.m.

July 3 – Parade on Main Street at 4 p.m. From Palmer Road to Fisherman’s. Mike Ross Entertainment and Lottery Ticket raffle (tickets at Ma Deeters, Luzerne Express, and Luzerne Hardware), Goat Bingo at noon in front of Luzerne Hardware, where you can also purchase spots.

July 3 – Fireworks at dusk.

July 3 – Parade at 11 a.m. Starting at Skunk Hollow and running to the Skidway Lake Chamber of Commerce.

July 3 – Fireworks at dusk at Newman Park.

Houghton Lake

July 3 – Fireworks at dusk.

July 4 – North Central Arts Council craft show in front of the high school. Thursday from 2-4 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.,and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.


July 3 – Family Funfest with live music at 5 p.m. Fireworks at dusk.

July 4 – Parade at 1 p.m.

Rose City

July 4 – Kids fishing derby at Rose City Park Pavilion. Sign up from 10 a.m. to noon. Cornhole tournament sign up at 9 a.m. with start slated for 10 a.m. Parade at 4 p.m. Fireworks at dusk at the city park.

Parade at 7 p.m. with fireworks at dusk. Lineup is at the intersection of Valley Street and Griffin, and runs to Eighth Street.

July 3 – Parade at noon starting at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Fireworks at dusk. Watch from the Plainfield Township Hall area (Eagle Village), or around the fire department.


July 2 – Fireworks / Summerfest at Treetops at dusk. Uncle Sam on stilts, balloon animals, potato sack races, live entertainment starting at 7 p.m.

July 3 – Otsego Lake fireworks at dusk.


July 4 – Parade at 11 a.m. Lineup at 9 a.m. with judging at 10 a.m. Parade runs from the Johannesburg-Lewiston High School from M-32 north to Maple Street, left on Hanson Street, and proceed across M-32 to the Charlton Township Hall.

July 4 – Strawberry Festival 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church.

July 4 – Parade at 1 p.m. Lineup starts at noon with the parade running from the corner of Neuman and Lincoln to US-23 South to Whittemore Street.

July 4 – Biggest Little 4th in the North Parade at 11 a.m., followed by kid’s games, food vendors area, and beer tent at the township park. Fireworks at dusk.
