TAWAS- Join the free fun and participate in the popular Fall Harvest Festival event at Tawas Point State Park and Lighthouse. A great weekend to take in Fall color, bird watch, or people watch, since costumes are welcome throughout the entire event.
Friday, October 10: – Lighthouse grounds area
11 a.m. – 5 p.m: Lighthouse Gift Shop Open by Michigan History Center Team
5 – 8 p.m: FREE Lighthouse visits inside the decorated Lighthouse. These are self-guided tours with the assistance of the Michigan History Center Keepers and Friends of Tawas Point Lighthouse and State Park (donations always appreciated)
5 – 8 p.m: FREE hayrides around the Tawas Point State Park and Lighthouse area.
Hayride Pick Up Points: Camp Host site inside State Park Campground and near Lighthouse.
Saturday, October 11 – Lighthouse grounds area
Noon – 4 p.m: Free Lighthouse tours inside the decorated Lighthouse. These are free self-guided tours with the assistance of the Michigan History Center Lighthouse Keepers (donations appreciated)
Noon – 5 p.m: Lighthouse Gift Shop Open by Michigan History Center Team
Noon – 5 p.m: Free Family games and activities for all age levels. Free Pumpkins and Apples available for attendees 16 years of age and under, while supplies last. (one each per attendee, please)
Noon – 5 p.m: Free hayrides around the Tawas Point State Park and Lighthouse area. Hayride Pick Up Points: Camp Host site inside State Park Campground and near Lighthouse. Dress in costume IF YOU DARE….or come as you are to enjoy the fun!
In Beach Pavilion on Lake Huron shore side:
7– 9 p.m: Free Monster Mash Bash Dance and Lighted Pathway from Campground are back! These popular events will include DJ music, hot chocolate and apple cider for attendees.

This is a No Fee Event; however, vehicles must have a valid Recreation Passport to enter all Michigan State Parks. If your vehicle doesn’t already have the license plate sticker, they can be purchased at the State Park Contact Station or Secretary of State for free annual entrance to ALL Michigan State Parks for an entire year.
