HALE- The robotics season has come to an end. The Talons jumped through many hoops to get as far as they did. The drivers of the robot had worked overtime to get in sync with the robot to get the team through hard competitions.
The first competition the team went to was in Escanaba. They had a problem when the bot did not weigh enough, but they had some assistance from another team. The Talons went through three days of practicing and competing against many larger teams that had more resources. In the end, they surprised many and became event finalists.
For the second competition, they went to was at LSSU. This event was slightly harder than the one before. In one match, the Talons won by an autonomous tiebreaker after both teams tied at 131 points.
Their last competition of the year was at SVSU for the FIRST in Michigan Robotics State Championship. The Talons put up a fight, but unfortunately were not able to make it to the third day of the competition. Their final state ranking was 154 out of 528 teams. Their season ended with new friends, new ideas, and a greater drive to do better in the future.
