Lafontaine – ‘Make it great. Make it Matter’

GRAYLING – The AuSable River, a great community, and an excellent team are what brought Matt Lafontaine and his wife, Christine, to Grayling.

The couple purchased the former Scheer Motors earlier this month and have relocated to Crawford County.

Matt brings more than 30 years experience in the automotive industry, including a term as president of the Detroit Chevrolet Dealers Association. Christine brings accounting and business acumen.

Despite their individual skills, Matt said the staff was part of the reason he considered purchasing Scheer in the first place.

‘We wanted to be able to keep the staff. They are a quality group. We asked everyone to stay and they did. Plus we added a couple of positions,’ he said.

‘We have an excellent service department and we have an award winning body shop. It’s the people that make any organization and we have a great staff.’

The company’s motto is ‘Make it great. Make it matter.’ And Matt expects everyone to live up to that.

‘We will be adding more quality cars,’ he said. ‘And we have some events to bring people in to see our facilities. We want them to know this is a quality operation the community can be proud of.’

Matt and Christine have six children, and recently moved to a home in Grayling. He is looking forward to meeting the people in the community.

‘The biggest part of the reason we came here is because of the people. Everyone has been good to us. We are happy to be here,’ he added.

Matt Lafontaine Automotive is located at 829 S. I-75 Business Loop in Grayling. For information call 989-718-2254 or visit them online at mattlafontaineusedcars.com.
