Mornin’ from the Mitten

Good morning Northern Michigan!

We have summer for just a couple more days and it’s been absolutely glorious outside. I think the best description of the past couple of days came from Danny DeRuiter of Houghton Lake.

“Man, this is such a short and precious window of time here in Michigan, where you can chill outside after sunset, in the absolutely perfect temperature and humidity range, without getting eaten alive by the horde of skeeters and other creepy crawlies that are due to hatch any day now. I could seriously just sit out here all night with my old six string flat top, doing some quality star gazing and shooting the breeze.”

It’s a busy weekend around the region as usual. Events include:

Quote of the day:

“But it’s Friday” (and 80 degrees outside) is a valid excuse for almost anything today.”
