State to replace section of M-65 in Presque Isle

ALPENA – The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing $1.1 million to resurface approximately 4.4 miles of M-65, stretching from Grand Lake Highway to US-23 in Presque Isle County.

The project, located near the community of Posen, is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 7 and is expected to be completed by Thursday, Aug. 14.

During construction, motorists should expect shoulder and single-lane closures, with traffic regulated by flaggers.

According to economic modeling, this investment is projected to support approximately 10 jobs, both directly and indirectly.

In addition to improving driving conditions, the resurfacing will extend the roadway’s service life and include the application of new pavement markings to enhance safety.
