Skyline presents Celtic music for St. Patrick’ Day

COMINS – On Friday March 17 the Skyline Event Center will present a special Friday Fireside featuring a full evening of Celtic music. The evening will begin early at 5 p.m. with a performance by Great Lakes Graham and the Fiddle Man, a duo from Marquette. At 7 p.m. we’ll hear more Celtic tunes from Doc Bungard on the guitar and a special guest with an Irish button box.
The Skyline crew has promised some Irish-themed snacks for the evening.

Troy Graham and Allen Dupras perform as Great Lakes Graham and the Fiddle Man, with an energizing blend of guitar, autoharp, accordion, and, of course, fiddle. Troy loves to tell stories with his music, drawing from a broad range of gospel, folk, old-time, bluegrass, and for this evening, Celtic traditions. The duo will perform in Grayling that evening, and generously offered to spend some time at the Skyline on the way.

Doc Bungard, always a community favorite, plays regularly at the Skyline. For this evening, he brings a special guest who plays a button box, a small accordion ideal for high spirited jigs and dances.

The music will play from 5 to 9 p.m., and the snacks will be served until they run out. Friday Fireside concerts feature local talent in an intimate ‘house concert’ setting with refreshments and a relaxed atmosphere for the entire family. Skyline offers the evenings throughout the year at no charge, thanks to generous sponsorship from Fick and Sons and the Woodworkers’ Shoppe. Donations and tips for the musicians are gratefully accepted.

Skyline, located on M33 between Fairview and Comins, hosts the Hotspot WiFi caf+¬ with free high speed internet service; the Skyline Gallery with locally produced crafts, foods, and gifts; Friday Fireside concerts; and several major indoor and outdoor events throughout the year. The center has a wide variety of volunteer openings, ranging from special events to staffing the WiFi caf+¬ during the week.
